Very pleased I found Cleopatra. It's tucked away in a suburban strip mall. I hope that they do a better weekday business, because I was there at 7:30 on a Saturday and was the only table in the place. They offer really great Mediterranean food. I would rank the babaganoush among the best I've ever had. Cleopatra's decided to forgo the heavy smokey flavor that I associate with baba ganoush, instead opting for a lighter and sweeter flavor. So good! The hummus and gyro meat were also excellent. I believe the owners were who served me and they were very nice and accommodating. My only criticism was the music that was a bit loud and slightly obnoxious for my taste.

Small portions, charges for sauces that should be included, and poor quality food. Drama amongst the staff was embarrassing.

I have been here twice. Once with my adult son and yesterday with my best friend... Love it! Attentive service and outta this world food. I got the Vegetarian Sampler. Hummus, mushrooms, salad to die for... I don't live in town, but I will visit every time I'm back.

This place needs business bad! Every time I go in there, it is empty and it's not due to lack of quality food. I hope they can get the word out. They needs some marketing, a website, etc. Their food is solid; I gave them an extra star because they are really the only Mediterranean/middle eastern anywhere close to this area and they have great customer service. You get a good amount of meat in the sandwiches. It really fills you up and does the trick. Hummus was good. The fries needed salt, but do you really need perfect fries from this restaurant? I may be able to get this type of food better downtown, but for the area, they are tops! And to the person who commented on taking your valuables out of your car. I don't know where you live but this neighborhood is fine; a reality check may be in order. Strip mall or no, this restaurant serves quality food in an inviting atmosphere.

We been here several times (we love Mediterranean food) and will be back several more times. The service is always great and the staff is very attentive. Their food is very authentic and very tasty! My favorite item is the Gyro plate...it is a lot of food and it's really good!

I am a middle eastern man and I have been eating this type of food for 37 yrs. if I would to rate Cleopatra - I give (-1) / 10 so don't waste your money.

Love this place! Gyros, rice, hummus all delicious! My favorite are the falafel! Soooo good and I always ask for extra tzatziki sauce! Servers are attentive and friendly. Anytime I'm craving Mediterranean, I go here!

We had the cheese pie for an appetizer and I had the chicken kabob's with garlic sauce. The dish came with rice and a salad. It was all very good. The chicken was fresh and grilled to perfection. For dessert we had kunafa, which was very good as well. Service was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place and will be back soon.

My wife and I really like this place. I often go with the Gyro as my favorite. We are big fans of the rice and my wife loves the light dressing on the Mediterranean salad. We also like the people who work here that are always friendly. Sometimes we eat it in and others get it to go. Check it out.

Horrible food. And, expensive. It cost me $15 for a gyro, fries, hummus and a drink. I asked for Feta on my gyro and it wasn't there. The fries were raw. I took a photo but don't see a place to post it. It was so hot in there I had to wait outside for to-go order.

I really honestly thought I had reviewed this place. SO here we go... We had driven by this place probalby 30 or so times and we were hungry one night and figured we'd give it a shot. It's a cute little place decorated tastefully with nice tables and booth seating which I like over tables. We were seated and we looked over their menu. Now we've been there a second time but the first time we went with this sampler platter and these amazing mushroom appetizers which was so good I could have eaten just that. We got a big platter next and it had rice and lamb, beef, shrimp, and chicken. It was so good but so much food we were so full I was pretty sure I could have just went to sleep on the bench. Second time we went we got gyros which were equally amazing. We enjoy here. They do carry out and I just so happen to be hungry.....

Gyro was decent. Now folks, I'm not one to throw away my food but although I love chicken shawarma, this version was sweet & I wasn't prepared for that. I know others have raved about it but I ended throwing mine away. While the hummus was just "ok", the garlic sauce tasted like it was straight up mayonnaise. Yuck. Threw that away too. Still looking for a place to fill my Mediterranean cravings!

Amazing! The gyro here is well seasoned & the tatziki sauce that comes with it is perfectly seasoned and creamy. The falafel are large & fresh. If you dip them in the tatziki sauce, they're perfect. The hummus is delicious & the pita was warm and fresh. Definitely recommend.

The service is always fast and friendly and food is always hot. I've only ever ordered rhe gyro pr falafel as the price is good.

So, if I was comparing it to ALL the Middle Eastern places in the city, it would be a 3 star review. If it was just for the Middle Eastern places in North Denver, I would give it 4, since there are all of like 3. The first time I came here was for lunch. I got the spanikopita/spinach pie. Le sigh. It was like super doughy, NOT flaky things o' creamed spinach. However, it was redeemed at that meal by the pita wrap I got with baba ganoush that had a hint of pomegranate sauce on it. Yum! When I came back for dinner with Leo, that delicious pita sandwich was no longer on the menu. He went with the Chicken Swarma sandwich (with fries) and I opted to try the veggie combo. His was agood deal for the price; mine was not. At the Jeruselm Restaurant or Ya Hala Grill, I would get easily twice as much food as I did for that price. That being said, everything was ok. Not bad, not delicious, but ok. However, the baba ganoush, yet again, was the highlight of everything. Now that I'll be back in the DU neighborhood more often, Cleopatra probably won't see much of me. However, if you are craving some dolmades or falafel, it isn't a bad place to stop.

Really nice guys and service was good. Their falafel, hummus, and mushroom appetizer were all excellent. Gyro was tasty, but I've had better (their gyro meat was a bit dry, no onion, and their tzatziki was a little bland). Chicken kabob was very good, but their rice was also a little bland. Overall we will eat there again, but will check out other items on the menu. Oh, one more thing. Inside you can smell nail polish remover from the nail salon next door. Totally not their fault, and my wife and I thought we would be pissed if we ran a restaurant and had to put up that that! You stop noticing it after 5 or 10 minutes, but it is not exactly appetizing. I think we'll get our food to go next time (which is A-OK with us anyway).

The gyro I got came out quickly and wasn't greasy at all. It felt fresh and was very tasty. The combo for the sandwich with the frys wasn't that bad of a price as it came with a drink as well.

We come here at least once a month when my husband is home. He loves the gyro plate and I love their chicken or lamb kabob. The couple that own the restaurant are very friendly and service is efficient and pleasant. We live very close, so this is a go-to on a regular basis. If you like large portions, delicious hummus and very friendly service at a great price, come to Cleopatra!

For dinner I ordered a Gyro $4.95w/ baba ghanoush appetizer $4.95. The baba ghanoush was tasty with a sweet condiment on top. Served with soft fresh pita. My cohort ordered chicken salad $8.95, which was plentiful. The dressing was a unique, strong balsamic that was awesome. The gyro meat was part beef and lamb with a spicy taste and traditional consistency. The sauce on it was tasty also. Served in foil wrap. Good service. The strip mall space is sparsely but tastefully decorated. Nice place to take a date, but it's only as romantic as you make it. There is culturally apropos music, boom box quality and a tad too loud for me, but at least appropriate. I fear the day they are visited by ASCAP/BMI/RIAA and are forced to choose between a $5,000/mo. Music license fee (even if the music isn't licensed by them) or the alternative: a horrific clear channel or cumulus radio station.

Best Gyro in town. Loved the food an service was great. I hope more people come here because I want it to be here forever. We will definitely come back.

If you get an entree meal you are getting two meals essentially. The salad you get is like a dinner salad you pay 9 bucks for somewhere else and tastes fresh with their house dressing ( a type of oil and vinegar base). I had the chicken sultani which was excellent and their rice tastes fragrant. I feel that I got an excellent meal for an excellent price.

Food was good, especially the gyros. I don't recommend the meat combos. You actually get more meat in the gyros than the meat combo. Order the gyro, rice and hummus on the side and you will probably pay less than the meat combos. Overall, service and food was good.

I work in the area and my sister and I always made fun of this place as we drove by on our way to other places. It has this really cheese window painting and to be honest, it looks pretty, well, not like a place I would normally frequent. Also, we were probably on our way to chik-fil-a so whatever food cred we had was totally busted. We decided on a whim to stop by and I'm super glad we did because it was freaking delicious. We ordered a pita and hummus to start, and the portions were very generous. I hate it when you order hummus out and they give you this giant bowl of hummus and half a pita. This place gave you the appropriate amount of pita to go along with the hummus. The hummus itself was very tasty. We both ordered gyro's, at a little over 5 bucks a pop. Again, the portions were pretty sizable. And the sandwiches were fantastic. The lettuce and tomatoes seemed really fresh, the meat was very flavorful, and the tzatziki sauce was pretty good too. The menu was pretty standard for this type of place, and the prices seemed to be pretty standard as well. The sandwiches and stuff being around $5, and the more dinner-y options being around $12. The service was another thing that stood out. Our server was very attentive and even gave us some coupons to come back with. In the end, I'm sorry I made fun of you Cleopatra!

I wanted Mediterranean food a few weeks back but didn't want to drive all the way to Kabob Station on 120th to get it. We decided to try Cleopatra. We were 2 of 4 people dining at Cleopatra that day, so the service was timely. I had the shawarma and my husband had a combination plate. We both agreed that it was OK. Definitely no Kabob Station though. Kabob Station, I promise I will never cheat on you again.

Chicken Shawarma is the best in town!

Positives: A nice family owned and operated place with nice interior (for a strip all on Federal). Fresh salads, excellently prepared falafel, tasty baba ganoush, flavorful dolmas and smooth hummus. Negatives: its in a shopping mall off federal so watch your back going to and from your car and bring in any valuables. The chicken shawarma was bland and dry.

Not bad. I had a gyro and the sauce was frickin awesome! Sadly the meat is cut in huge chunks, not thinly sliced. That resulted in rubbery, dry, lambeef... ew.

  • April C.

Not bad. Ordered the gyro and the meat was great taste and tender whise. There was alot of it almost too much but hey I tather have alittle to much then not enough. Sauce was ok, it was a little thicker and bitter then I'm used too, but this will not stop me from going again. Great location, clean, family relax style and take out very easy and quick. Worth a try.

Update: We ordered take out and the food was no where near the same quality. The lamb was overcooked and tough and the rice was weird instant rice. Suggestion: this is a great restaurant if you eat in and do not order the rice! The lamb might still be ok in house, that is yet to be decided.

First off, let me say that I'm a big fan of local, family-owned restaurants because that is usually where the best food comes from. BUT, on this occasion, I was sadly disappointed. After reading all the bad reviews on here, I decided to give it a try myself because I really wanted this small family to succeed. After dinner at this place, I decided to sign up here just to let everyone know, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!! My family of four plus our friends came with us for a total of six people, on a Saturday night. When we got there, it was dead empty. We should have taken that as a sign and ran as fast as we can. My husband ordered a gyro, my son ordered the lamb shank, and I ordered the special meat combo to share with my daughter. My friend also ordered the same to share with her husband. We both thought that based on the description given that the $20.00 entree would be big. First we all got our salads and it was sooooo sour that none of us could eat it. I tried adding a little of salt in mine and that helped a little. Then we all got our entrees and.......the special meat combo was soooo little, barely enough to feed one person. We had rice, which was really hard and dried up. 6 pieces of overcooked meat about 1 inch cubed, no seasoning in the meat so I had to add lots of salt, but was still very dry and tough to eat due to the overcooking, and lots of hummus and pita bread that was old because we literally had to chew it off. This is 19.99????? RIDICULOUS!!!! What a ripoff. My husband's gyro was sub-par, no special seasoning on the meat, and my son's lamb shank was old and dried up, you can see the tomato sauce that was use to braise in dried up on the bone. It was also hard and tough to eat like the other meats. There was also no seasoning at all used. My family of four bought 3 items and our total came up to $54.92. WHAT A RIP-OFF!!!! I cannot stress enough: DO NOT GO HERE, IT IS YUCKY OLD FOOD AND A RIP-OFF. Seems like the owners only want to take your money because they don't seem to care about their food. We will NOT be going back!!!!!!

Excellent food and fairly large servings at typical prices. They would REALLY benefit from a location change, however. This place is nearly impossible to find or see from Federal, so it's no surprise that they get few customers. When you open a restaurant, LOCATION COUNTS. Just suck it up and pay the extra rent for a GOOD location; if your business fails, at least then you know it wasn't the location--it was probably your food, service, prices, decor, etc. But at least you gave yourself a good chance to be visited by the people with the wallets whom you want to contribute to your income.

WERE IN LOVE!!!! We love Mediterranean food but hate that all the best places are a 30+ min drive. Recently we spotted this place while driving on 104th and decided to try. Everything there is amazing. The hummus is fantastic. The gyro plate, beef kabob, chicken Sharma and the Kiki** (SP) was great!! We love there food and will def go back. The staff there is very friendly and kind also. I would recommend them to anyone! They also mentioned while we were in that they are adding delivery for Fri/Sat/Sun!
